Default Worth repainting?

I have a 02 sebring on black with about 58k miles on it in great condition but lately I've regret not getting a gpw with red interior. Would I be better off getting it repainted and slowly buy red seats, carpet, panel, etc to swap or try to sell it and search for a nice stock 02-03 gpw? Any thoughts would be great, thanks

sell it and rebuy. a good paint job can cost you 3k and up plus the seats and panels will run you another grand? probably like 4-5k if you want the engine bay painted too

I have ssm and i regret not buying gpw either, i was just in a rush to buy an s2000, now i kick myself every time about not being patient

Repainting it will not only be expensive but would likely lower the resale value. It would be cheaper to sell and rebuy.

Or just get the red seats for your car. They look great with silver.

A good full repaint is pretty difficult. Besides repainting the entire engine bay, the well into which the top descends should be repainted also, since that color does show. That is an extremely expensive job. Having once suffered delivery of a brand new Ford with extensive repainting (not disclosed to me), I can assure you that the little imperfections, which include dust spots, overspray in odd places, such as undersides of door handles, insignias, inside of gas filler cap, etal, are both unavoidable and annoying. I would leave the car its original color.

at times i get annoyed with my car's sebring color, there is a vinyl shop in town that does wraps and so just a solid vinyl color would be cheaper. i toyed with the idea of having the car just vinyl'd instead of a paint job (love the apex blue or maybe do an exotic color) just cause it's so much cheaper...

hmm, yeah looks like the list of cons for repainting > just selling and rebuying. I'll probably put it up for sale soon, thanks guys!

sell and rebuy. Its very hard to match OEM quality and it would be a headache and a half to color change it properly.

the only way I'd do it is if i bought a shell to rebuild and wanted a non OEM color
