Default Would like to get an S2K but....

Hi,
I am new here and I don't even own a S2000, however, I am entertaining of getting it. The problem is that I have a 15 month old baby that although my wife has the Odyssey to haul him most of the time, I am wondering about the airbag on the passenger side on the S2000 in case I need to take him somewhere

I called Honda and they said that for the 2002 there is a possibility of installing the off switch, but I have to write to the NHTSA for permission and have the dealer agree to install the switch.

Anybody has any experience on this issue?

You should run a search there has been a couple threads on this subject. I for one wish it did have the off switch cause i would love to take my 20 month old neice out for a spin, but i am forbidden by her father (my bro). The most she does it sit in the drivers seat and play with the buttons and move the steering wheel (car off). ::::sighhh:::: Oh well

Spa02S2K is correct. Several board users have done this conversion to allow infants and small children to ride in the passenger seat without the concern of air bag injury.

Here's one helpful link: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=13650

Many more turned up with a search for "air bag switch".
