Default Would a S2000 with a hard top be carwash safe?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if the Honda or Mugen hard top would make a S2000 safe to be driven through a brushless carwash.

The owner manual recommends not to put it through automatic carwashes ... Trust me on this one, I wash the hardtop just like any normal part of the car. That's the best way, I don't trust automated cleaning stuff anyhow.

I'd have to say "probably" however, only experimentation will reveal if the seal between the hard-top and the body will resist the extreme of water in a brushless car-wash. I don't recall seeing any comment from Honda about their hard-top in that scenario.

This should be the least of your concerns, however, since even if the seals can withstand that force, you are not doing a favour to the surface of the car by subjecting it to the harsh chemicals and extremely high pressure of a touchless-car wash.

If you have absolutely no recourse other than a touchless wash, and are in a pinch, sure...but for your finish' sake, please do not make it a regular event, and be sure and have a good recent coat of wax under there that will take some of the abuse.

Thanks for the reply Tahashi. I always wash my car by hand. It looks like the hardtop option would be useless to me for the winter since I have a garage. I thought maybe the hard top would be good to have for a car wash, so I can get the salt from underneath the car. I was checking on some winter tires. I will just have to use my truck this winter.

No car is safe from a carwash. They spread their propaganda of a quick and easy clean, just to abuse your poor baby in a systematic fashion. Resist the urge at all costs. They're evil I tell ya!

The hardtop is actually very good for keeping out the cold spine chills at night and filtering out all the unwanted noise, dust, whatsoever though ... I had enough of driving with the top down for the past few weeks while exploding VTEC in Sydney current winter temperatures is really not very mind blowing. Makes me loose my concentration driving more than anything else. Back the hardtop on my car, it also looks much more better in my opinion.
