Thanks for all your responses.......It's a 2004 and it's been reparired. Unfortunately, it's out of state. Before flying out to see it, I'm looking for any feedback from salvage title owners and how their damage compared prior to fixing. Given it's a rwd and most of the damage is in the rear suspension, could this be problematic??

If it has been repaired correctly than not too bad. I would still try for less. Any pictures of it repaired?
I think with a rebuilt title if you get in an accident insurance does not cover the damages if I am not mistaken.

frame looks intacts...its the suspension components and more importantly..the SUBFRAME that you should be worried about. see if you can get the alignment specs after the suspension was rebuilt. If they got it to factory specs then it should be okay IMO

I personally wouldn't buy it. I'm sure theirs quite a few clean titled s2k's going for $8k. On the other hand, I know many folks that would buy that car in a heart beat regardless if it's salvaged or not. It's all up to you.

Salvage isnt all bad depending on the damage, front/rear bumpers and some suspension damage isnt bad I'd get a shop to look at it for a second opinion make sure the frame is straight...but 8k is too much for a salvage I'd probably offer 5k maybe 6k tops. You could pick up a nice low mileage s2k for cheap if you know what you're doing, just remember resale will always suck with a salvage title

It's your money. Spend it the way you want to. What I'd do with my money is irrelevant.
