It's not something I would do, but if you like it, go for it.
If are going to only do the hood, you could get a replacement hood and swap it back easily.
Or you could get a few replacement hoods, have different artwork on each of them, then swap them depending on your mood.

About the car worth less, that would apply if the paint would be made by john doe or by me lol...
If made by a known artist that would not cost less!

I personally would not have someone paint it on my car. I have always wanted to have some form of are on my car. I almost had my sisters 3rd grade class draw pictures to put on my car. There is a company (I forget the name) that you can give any image to them and they will make a vinyl wrap out of it. I think thats the best way to go. It protects your old paint and its easier and cheaper to do, if done right looks just as good if not better.

I am not a huge fan of that Ferrari.... there inspiration was from a bowl? I think they could have done better. Lot of time and work though, have to respect that.
