Would you support a S2000 with the TL V6
This S2000 isn't for you if you feel this engine is harsh. Swapping in the V6 will do nothing but add weight. You gain little in the way of HP and add more weight to the front of the car.
I suggest you look elsewhere for a 2 seat convertable.

You are either passionate about it or you are not. I would think many people would like to like this car and then fall out of love very quickly with it and sell it shortly after buying.
Its a driver's car, and a driver's car should be harsh. There are times where I wish it was a bit more harsh, but there are times when I wish it was a bit softer. But my overall opinion is that it is just about the best of all aspects you can have in owning a sports car....and I plan on owning an S2000 until I can afford my F430.

People buy the S2000 *FOR* its engine. You need not to buy an s2000 and buy something else.

I'm glad to see that people are so loving of the s2000 motor, but if people are so opposed to the v6 swap, then why does everyone like the 2jz swap so much?

However, I would never get it. Its nothing special to get that engine to make 1k hp plus it will ruin what this car is reall designed to do

We like the fact that it can make 1000 hp on a stock bottom end, something our engine and most others can never do. But you don't see everyone rushing out there to drop 16 grand on the swap. Oh and the 2JZ is an inline 6.
I think it's AOK to consider engine swaps for the S2000, but the truth is that many of us bought the S2000 *for* its engine, solid X frame, and many , many other engineering facets. It's a question of balance.
Anyway, as an earlier poster said, we like to see folks considering and doing neat swaps, but the vast majority of us would never consider it.
It's worth noting that Honda is first and foremost and engine company. It's one of the reason why we love Hondas and buy them in the first place. Well, anyway, that certainly expresses my personal opinion.

While considering engine swaps for the S2000, I personally feel that the F20C/F22C is the heart of an amazingly engineered car and changing the heart would take away a little bit from how well the car comes together.
I will be the first to admit that its not perfect, but realistically, you can ask for much more from the powertrain of a car....especially when you consider how beautifually the combination of the engine, transmission, and suspension work together at the apex of a tight turn.

I have been planning to purchase a S2000 for a weekend car but after test driving the S2000, I feel the engine is major turn off partly because it is a bit harsh (compared to say a BMW I6). But the chassis is first rate and the car is just on rail. I supposed there are other people like me who probably turned off by the engine.
