Default WOW! Put Mobil 1 In Today...What A Difference

Had Honda put in Mobil 1 10/30 today. What a huge difference. The S runs smoother and quieter then on dino oil. Got my chin spoiler put on too. Sorry I don't have the means to show you, but take it from me...they did a nice job. I wonder if a synthetic type oil would also make the tranny smoother as well?

I've noticed improvements in engine smoothness after oil changes too, but I think it's the change that does it, not the type of oil that you use. Mobil 1 is good oil, but not sufficiently different from other types of oil to make a difference by itself. Did you notice the condition of the oil that came out? Was it particularly "nasty" looking?

Transmission oil changes also can improve smothness, and again i'd relate it to new oil rather than oil of a particular type. if you do a search, you'll find raves about a variety of different types of transmission oil. I use OEM transmission lubricant and change it (and the differential oil - 90w gear oil) out every 10-12k miles.

I put in Mobil 1 at 11,000 miles (third oil change), and I also felt a big difference from dyno oil. VTEC engagement is much smoother -- not such a "bump" at 6000 rpm, either from a roll or standing start. Mileage seems better too, although only by 1-2 mpg.

Beware the butt dyno... Back in the day, people used to complain of the car getting "noticeably slower" after switching to Mobil 1.

My butt's prepared to testify to the effectiveness of synoil in any court in the land!

Seriously, the subject of oil's a "slippery slope" -- just look at the endless threads it generates. Seems like it's hard to go wrong with any major brand.
I'm telling ya though, power delivery came on smoother once I switched...

Castrol GTX here also. My '95 jetta VR6 has 110k miles , being using Syntec full synthetic from day one switch to Castrol GTX dino oil the engine felt like it had more power!
If your going to change your oil every 3k miles, there is no point of using the synthetic oil...

My car had just over 10,000 miles today when I switched to Mobil 1. This was my third oil change since I had the car...and the most noticible. When I had my modifed '03 Acura CL-S, I also noticed a difference in the performance when I switched to Mobil 1. Cost of the Mobil 1 oil change and filter today was $49.95.

Also, keep in mind that the F20C runs noticeably better when ambient temperatures are low. We just had a cold front come through South Florida and my car (without oil change) is running smoother and stronger too.
