Default WOW...Ricks Console Cover just arrived

the courier just dropped off the comsole cover.

man is it nice. leather feels top-notch and workmanship is awesome - can't wait to install!!!

i really wanted the headrests as well, but i don't think Rick's making them anymore (no access to them on website) - maybe i'll see if i can get an upholstery shop in toronto to make me a set.

if anyone else has the console, any advice on install would be appreciated - i'm going to tackle the install this weekend.

thanks in advance

You need to PM to Prolene. He's the expert when it comes to installing that thing. I saw him install one in 15 minutes.

Rick posted about the headrests earlier. They will be available again in about 2 weeks.

Actually, the instructions are as clear as a whistle. Those were the best instructions I've ever seen...err...maybe because I dont usually read them, but still! Seriously, you can install them in 15-20 minutes after you've done one. Mine took me about 1/2 hour reading and rereading everything. and if someone else is around to help, you should be able to handle no problem. Good luck!

marks2k, thanks, but how do i PM (sorry, new to site)

cajun - fully perforated, black.

james - ok, will keep an eye out for them on website. kudos for delivering the console cover in 3 weeks as advertised. as an aside, any benefit in having the digrappa brace w/o a strut tower brace? just curious.

does the fully perforated look the best? the website only shows one picture so i couldnt see which looks best. Which is the most ordered?

I put down a deposit on a silver/black on Saturday and the damn bank still hasnt got their work done. I had to submit income tax returns this morning... I got my home loan approved faster than this...geezz..

cajun,

IMO, the fully perferorated looks the best and goes with the rest of the interior as i believe most of the exposed surfaces are perforated in the cabin of the car - the seats, door inserts, elbow rest etc. - everything else is pretty much carpet or plastic.

plus i believe the perfs hide any inconsistencies in the leather. in the S, i've been putting my elbow on the perforated leather area every day for a year and a half and the leather still looks the same everywhere. in my wife's bmw (non-perf leather), her arm rest has a depression in the leather from where she/I put our elbows during driving.

plus, i'm sticking to all black stuff b/c i like the monochromatic look of all black.

sorry, i don't know which is the most ordered - that would be a question for james/rick - james, you still here?

TKG 26,

The majority of NA customers have ordered mostly black leather items. With accented stitching in yellow and silver increasing steadily.
I usually suggest black top with perforated sides to customers who ask.
Also, many believe that a lower cross brace is all that the S needs, and that an upper bar is unnecessary. I tend to agree, and DiGrappa's is quite nice. Look here for a good discussion on all of the cross brace choices:
