Default Wrected S2000 on ebay

Did any one see the wrecked S2000 on ebay. I'm interested in buying it. Is it work buying and getting fixed. I have a guy who does free body work for me, minus the parts. Also do they make a hard top for this car? I heard they did in Japan. Any idea of a price for this part?

Here's the link to the S2000 ebay bid.

Thanx Jim

Seems like a great price if you want to get it and fix it up to keep. If you try to sell it later with a salvage title you'll loose money. There is a hardtop available in the US (actually 2, one OEM and one aftermarket). Figure around 2500 +/- 500 bucks for one OEM installed that can be bought from your dealer or probably for less $ from a board sponsor.

it looks like a big headache. the rear quarter is gone and the frame is questionable. buying a car like that "sight unseen" is a HUGE risk!

Yikes, that front clip and front shock tower are pushed way back, some serious frame straightening would be needed for that one. And the left side suspension looks to be completely wasted. If you look closely, the right front and right rear quarterpanels are also bent, the only thing that might be straight is the passenger door...

$$$ + =

Plus the thing hes saying about having it reinspected for a clean title is BS. Once a salvage title is given to a car it follows it the rest of its life. Sure a title can be "washed" but stuff like Carfax or Autocheck will always show that it was once issued a salvage title.

its bad news man. the whole front needs a frame job. once the suspension is out of line, it can not be fix. as in not like new. it will never drive stright.

hey, i just bought one for 8K and its salvaged but it was WAY less damage than that, if you want one damaged you can find a better deal with less damage for that much money..... for the amount of parts you need you are looking at 4 or 5 thousand dollars in parts alone if you dont have a hookup that can get you a discount, then if you arent going to be doing the work yourself you will be looking at another 4 or 5 grand at least for labor/paint so in the end you are paying 18-20K for an s2k, which isnt a bad price, except it will have a salvage title, if you are going to get a salvage title s2k, dont go over 12 or 13 total when everything is done...... just my .02
