MY06 is a daily driver. I drive 60 miles and day and find it to be pretty smooth. Also I drive on california freeways, so comfort wise in an hour+ long traffic is quite comfortable. Im 5'10 and 190 so thats saying alot for a car that has a snug fit. very happy with my choice.

ive had a wrx, an integra type r, a turbo mr2 and a few other cars and the s2k is defiantly my favorite. the s will probably never be as fast in a straight line as a wrx but IMO it is more fun to drive and how often do you really need all that power on the street. dont get me wrong, wrx's are awesome and id love to be able to afford both but i dont regret makin the move to the s2k

I had an accident with my Evo, that's why s2000, and I'm fairely dissappointed in the s2000's braking, the ride's twitchness/lack of stability and most importantly the power level, which is just miserably slow.
but top down fun in a S is something you can't do with Evo, and the smaller and more compact/nimbleness of the S is a lot better than Evo.
2 very different cars. You need to be willing to sacrifice a lot. Mostly the room and if you work on your car, the room to work.
I miss all the room on the Evo to work on, now I'm afraid that I might get stuck on S if I start doing work, like between the steering wheel and the seat or something. lol

I had a subaru wrx for 1 year and half. After that I have swap the drivetrain for a STI JDM V8 ( 2.0l that was making 251whp/222wtq with an ecu tune up) that reved to 8000rpm. I had this setup for a year. Some circumstance have made that I had to chose a car less expensive. I found myself a nice stolen-recover, accidented 2000 S2000 from connecticut, anyway...
I will never trade my S2000 back for the STI I had. The S2000 is a real sport car, has the STI is a impreza on steroid. You really can't compare the handling of the 2, and for the power I am really surprise and pleased by the S2000.
I have raced a friend that have a stock wrx and I had 3 car on him by 90mph, sure wrx are fast from the line but they kind of die above 70mph IMO.
The only time I regret my choice could be in winter where I am driving a 1992 civic cx

I have both a WRX and an S2000. They are very different in "feel".
1. WRX has low-end torque, but turbo lag until 2500rpm
2. WRX has softer suspension, but IMHO more useable grip in real-world conditions. The S2000 has greater grip IF you want to take chances. Your choice.
3. Performance is nearly identical acceleration-wise.
4. The WRX is kinda ugly
5. But the S2000 has no hood scoop!
6. Both are IMHO the best cars you can buy for the money. I love both of mine equally.

I'm seeing some good things here. I can tell from what I've read and from talking to a few people that the way they handle are completely different. The wrx imo does handle good but I've even driven my g/f's dad's miata and I really liked the open top feel. That car was bone stock and I thought it was fun to drive.
Mine would be a daily though and it would have to be driven in the winter even if there was a little ice/snow. Now with that being said I would definately pick up a set of serious winter tires if I got one. I would like to make the switch, just wouldn't be looking forward to converting mine back to stock, selling all the parts, and then trying to sell the car.

Huh? Worse than an RSX. I don't think so...

A couple of my friends had R32's and those cars were pretty fun to drive. The exhaust was one of the best sounding factory exhausts I've heard.
They were also awd, the only down side is that they were really heavy pigs of a car.

Last weekend at a meet at Quaker Steak, this kid with an '06 WRX was talking all kinds of trash. He ran his mouth to me, an SRT4 with an intake, and a turbo Del Sol. The 4 of us lined up on the freeway and went from a 40 roll. According to witnesses, me and the SRT deuced him by over 4 car lengths. He said I had an advantage at that speed, so he wanted to race me from a 20 roll. Once again, I got him by 3 1/2 car lengths. In my opinion, a WRX is only faster than an S off the line. We did both 1st and 2nd gear runs and he was never able to even pull a fender on me from any gear or any speed. The WRX is much more practical, but I lost lots of respect for its speed in a straight line. The S also handles better and stops better. It's very hard to compare a sedan to a roadster like the S, so choose which one you would rather have. IMO if you buy an S2000 you will never look back.
