Default yellow tint headlights

I am interested in tinting out my headlights with a clear yellow film, vinyl or watever people use. Where and how do people go about doing this? What are your opinions on it? Will i have to cut out a hole for the hid beam so that the color doesnt become yellowish. This is just a feeler right now... just want to get some info on how to do this and what i need and where to buy the things.

Thanks

John

I have seen this product on ebay as well as on xpel.com's website. It is applied just like the clearbra paint protection (water-alcohol solution then squeegee the film over the light). They say that it is supposed to have a really good light transmission, but I have never used it.

You planning on driving in the fog a lot? People spend inordinate amounts of time trying to get their hibeams to be LESS yellow by going to whiter or even bluish bulbs and you want to make them more yellow?

So I'm guessing yellow is better for fog than blue is.

According to Lexus it is!
Yellow actually shows contrast between other colors the most... Try looking through glasses with a yellow tint. It's pretty cool.

I can't give you a scientific reason but this is the way fog lamps were marketed - yellow lenses.

There is no scientific reason for yellow lights. It's a complete myth about applying yellow filters to light in a foggy situation.

The lights are usually made with low wattage so as to not give you feedback in the fog your driving into, so they don't even help for you to "be seen" any better.

It's completely cosmetic.

And more to the point of this thread.. WHY in God's green earth would you want to poooch up these great clean burning bulbs with a yellow filter?

Isn't that kinda defeating the whole idea of having HID's?

I'm thinking of this as only for cosmetic, i like the look of the yellow tinted headlights... i didnt want to turn my lights to yellow... thats why i ask if i should cut out a whole the size of the beam so that the beam is not affected by the yellow tint. Also do they make yellow bulbs for the parking lights on a MY04 in the headlights. Once again this is just all a feeler... not sure if any of this is going to happen. Thanks for all the info s2ker's
