hi just wanna share the story that i had earlier today at school with these two guys
i was little late to school so i was kinda rushing trying to find the parking spot so i was kinda going faster than i was supposed to which made my exhaust louder and i think that attracted more people to my car
anyway i finally saw this girl going into the car so i thought she was leaving and i was waiting to take her spot
all of sudden this two guys ran up to me and asked me
1st guy" is this TURBOCHARGED???"
me " No, natural aspirated"
2ndguy " it is V8 huh? it is got the huge hood there must be really big V8 engine under the hood"
me "no 4 bangers"
and they looked really disappointed walking away after i answered their question

i thought it was really funny....

 

I was at a stoplight once and a older model Impala pulled up next to me. I could have sworn that I was in a Dodge Ram commercial when the passenger yelled out, "Eh, Dat Ding Got a HEMI?"

 

it's like once people hear 4 cylinder, they look disappointed... they won't be disappointed if they knew what it could do to car with twice the cylinders.

 

Yeah I've had a similar experience.. Me and a friend were installing my front lip in front of his house, when two guys walked up
"Is that the 6 or the 8?"
I replied "excuse me?"
them: "cylinders..."
me: "oh.. in that case its a 4"
them: (now feeling stupid) "oh so yours just looks fast, but have you seen the v8 version?"

I honestly didn't know what to say to them at that point, I didn't want to get into some debate over that, which obviously would have went no where. So I jsut told them no, but i'll check it out

 

 

You must be racing pickup trucks and conversion vans.

 

You just gotta laugh after midnight at some of the crazy stuff out there. Like the kid in the riced out Chevy Cavalier who had to "race" by me to prove

shit i cant believe so many of you think like every f'ing person should know about the S2000...if someone has enough interst to ask about your car why dont you be nice and explain a little about it instead of rolling your eyes and thinking god how the f' does he NOT know its a 4 banger...at least thats the impression i get from a lot of the guys posting on S2KI, not neccessarily on this thread

 

i think it's the disappointment in their eyes when you tell them it has a four cylinder that is irritating. people so quickly associate speed with a v8 and sometimes rightfully so. s2000's are such specialized cars that i will agree with you, not too many people have any idea what makes this car tick...that's half the fun!
