Only problem with that install is it's clearly visible to the cop when he pulls you over on the freeway and approaches your passenger side window to talk to you...

Very nice placement. In the line of sight so you can turn off the annoying beeper and just get your cues from the direction arrows

Did you mount the main unit over the glovebox?

Yup, the unit is adjacent to the rear view on the passenger side...

Def. in line sight, and easy to reach the mute...

Thanks for the kind words...

Well, since the unit is already on the top, I don't see the need for a remote display. The purpose of the remote display is to create a discrete install.

Oh okay - I thought you were trying to hide it from certain individuals' views.

Yeah, I am trying to hide it. With the display or the unit up top, cars from the rear will see it light up like a x-mas tree. With the display a little lower, its not that obvious. Once pulled over, Johnny Law will see the huge detector mounted on the top of the windshield, so there's no avoiding that anyway. And if you do get pulled over, the radar detector did not do its job...
