Well I don't own an S...yet. Last year for my 17th birthday I bought a 99 Prelude with 17k miles on it, ended up financing about 19k at the bank after taxes and junk. For a 60 month loan, I pay 350 a month now for the Lude, up until a few months ago I was a waiter at a succesful restaurant in town, bringing home about 900 a month. My sperm-donor of a father who lives in Vegas pays my 185 a month on insurance. As Kamehamaha said, you do have to be 18 to enter into a legally binding contract (car financing) so I am the co-signer on my car loan, my mom being the main name, but I pay everything. I decided to co-sign the loan so I can start building credit. I'm going to start listening to the radio about a local Honda dealership doing 0% financing, then I'm all over a new S2k. Now I am head of installation at my friends home theatre and whole home audio system business. We install audio in the real nice homes around town, in Topeka are around the 400k and up range. So I do fairly well now with no bills other than car payment and gas. Once I turn 18(3 weeks) I can sell the Lude and get an S! I'm so excited!

Yes, I'm a senior in high school. I worked it out with my gifted education coordinator that I can do an internship at work and get out of school everyday at 12:30 to go to work, its not too shabby. Excited about the S, thinking about just tradin in the Lude.

I like that last comment you made , true believer . Liquid cash is is what a persons all about , throwing that bank statement on the table and prooving yourself and other people how much your worth . I think watching that movie "Wallstreet" to many times is getting to me .

I read about young folks buying these cars and I think "How the hell can they afford this wonderful expensive toy? - They must be spoiled brats."

But then I remind myself that I paid cash for my first new toy, a new Triumph sportscar, that I picked up in Paris, France - totally with money I had earned and saved myself. If you want something bad enough, you will find the way. And the S2000's a lot more fun than liquid assests, cause I got those too. Just one word of advice to the you young folks, "Don't put yourself in harm's way by trying to drive beyond your experience and ability." Getting old is a luxury that not everyone gets to enjoy (that's why I don't complain).

I dont think it's really fair to stereo type us because some of us owners are young...i feel that i am a responsible driver, and i know my limits. The thought of putting my baby in danger is out of the question...i just dont really appreciate you generalizing alot of us "Young" owners spoiled brats. Some i am sure, are. We are not all racers! I am not flaming you in any ways at all, and you are entitled to your own opinion, it's just it's not fair for you to label us that's it.
