Default Are YouParanoid About Parking & Leavin Your S2K

I've only owned my S2K for three weeks. It is practically like new.
Everywhere I go, I park as far away from other cars as I can get and I never leave it for long.
This afternoon, I went into a restaurant for about 30 minutes to eat lunch and came out to my car to find a scratch above the rear wheel, as if someone had keyed it lightly. I did get the scratch out with Scratch Doctor, but now I am even more paranoid. My car was near no other car and some hater just wanted to leave their signature.

I am thinking about installing an alarm with a motion sensor and pager, but am afraid if I catch some degenerate near my car I will go postal on him/her.

Is anyone else so paranoid? Is this car such a target?
Maybe a Doberman sitting in the passenger seat is the answer

Seems S2000's are targets for haters or something. Im always worried about mine anytime i leave it anywhere, but then i just tell my self i have insurance and try not to stress about it. Hell just this past Saturday i went downtown to a friends party and when i got back to my car someone had spit all over my side view mirror!! I was thinking to myself at least they didnt key it or kick then damn thing. Assholes!!

I rarely go to Walmart, but one time that I did, someone left a cart right behind my car. I calmly walked over and checked for damage but it didn't look like anyone pushed it INTO the car, just left it there. Haters gonna hate.

Btw my feeling is that if I deliberately park far away, I will stand out more, and be a bigger target.

In the end it's still a car - as long as you have comprehensive insurance it's more of a hassle than anything else. Like you said I would probably go bananas though if I catch them in the act.

P.S. you should tie the Doberman's on the OUTSIDE so no one can come near it. I recommend snakes for the passenger seat.

I've been that way, but I have enough mysterious blemishes on my car now to where I just try and accept it. Mine is a garage queen with only 11k miles on it, yet someone tapped my front end slightly leaving marks and scratches, and I have even gathered enough rock chips in such a short time frame, I try not to sweat it. I have avoided door dings so far, but bad luck follows me everywhere I go, so now I'm just driving the car to work and saying, to hell with it, it's just a car. I feel ya though. it gets easier over time.

I haven't put my top up all summer, when I've taken it out I just leave it parked with the top down. I don't leave anything in the car and I lock the glove box. My wife and I were out last night for a couple hours at the mall, no problems. The only thing worth stealing is the shift knob I guess. I haven't had any issues yet. I live in a safe city though , much different from the higher crime areas I read about on the forums.

I don't leave anything in the car worth stealing. I do leave the top down for quick trips, like when I run into the supermarket or pharmacy.
I feel like leaving my car in a parking lot and staking it out so I can catch someone tryng to f*ck with it.

Park in the back, in one spot. Pray the car is as you left it when you return. Pretty much what I do.
