Smile Is your car a cop magnet?

I am starting to think the s2000 is a cop magnet . I am 20 years old and just got a 06 s2000 with around 7500 miles on it. Anyway, today on my way to work from my lunch break a cop pulls me over and says I was going 57 in a 40, even though he didn't get me on radar or laser, I guess he just looked at me and pulled a number out of his ass. On the ticket it says he paced me, but I was not behind me the entire time, so he must of been on the side of the road and guessed my speed. Also, this was after I was stopped at a red light and was pulled over within 200 yards after the light, I did not gun it, so I am pretty sure there is no way I went that fast in that short amount of time. Anyway, do you find yourself harassed by the cops a lot in this car?

if u think that is bad put an invidia v3 on ur car and see if cops pay a lot of attentiion to u... its ridiculous.... Its not to bad tho... I average geting pulled over about once every two weeks.... Iv been pulled over because a cop thought i was doing 60 in a 30 but i was doing 30 in 2nd gear and my exhaust is just way to loud...

It helps if you have like 10 pbas like me and two police badges though.... cops actually apologize lol..

Only when I do something stupid, which I have had my fair share.
Nothing bad has come of it though...yet

It could have been vascar. Its being used more often now. basically they have a timer and clock your average speed by the time it takes you to go through a given segment of the road. But he should have told you if it was though unless they consider it pacing where you live... I'd contest it. Only 5 percent of tickets ever go contested.

Im a cop magnet... but only because of the driver. I've got eagle eyes so as soon as I see a cop pull a u-turn, Ill pull off, park on private property, get out, and wait for the cop to leave. Since they lost sight of you and you aren't operating a vehicle, they can't prove in court that it was you.

Cops look, but I don't give them reason to pull me over. I actually often nod or wave to them as they're usually admiring the car. Never been pulled over before. *knock on wood* Cops are trained on judging speed. The cops I've met are actually uncanny with their judgements. And to personally confirm the hit, all they have to do is pull out behind you for the stop with their calibrated car at the speed limit and see you opening the gap

I'm going to throw it out there that if you don't know what your speed was, well, good reminder to check your velocity and learn from the experience. Even without hard acceleration, this car gets moving pretty swiftly. I don't doubt you could have gotten to 57 in a 40. Hell, I was following my friend on a fun run once, and after a stoplight I realize our "swift" acceleration had us at 50 in a 25 zone.

Oh, and wave to cops if you make eye contact. Acknowledges they're human and you might just get cut a little slack.

I got pulled over one time when i was following a cop on I-275. i was behind him doing the speed limit about 5 car lengths back. he changed lanes,i passed him then he got behind me and pulled me over for flashing my high beams at him. I explained to him that i was not flashing him but the HID headlights are very bright esp when hitting bumps. he was cool, told me to have it checked out and let me go, he seemed to be concerned that i may have been in trouble and trying to signal him. no harm just a few minutes of my life gone. NO BIGGIE.

I was pulled over by an officer on foot for making excessive noise (7k rpm first gear).

I got yelled at. My passenger got yelled at. And the most vivid phrases I can remember are :

"You're smiling like shit, you think this is a game"
"Trying to show off for your lady friend are you?"
"Let me see who this car is registered too"

It was fun to say the least. I'm 6' tall and this guy was a head taller than me.
