Help! I have been looking for a dealer in SOCAL who has done the trans/grind work, finally found one, BUT...
the one they did, they did not take out the transmission. Says they had no problem replacing the synchro with it up on the lift. Does this sound do-able? They were aware of the magnitude of the seat belt problem and will do that while it's in the shop, so for a twofer, it sounds good if they know what they're talking about. The car they replaced belonged to the GM, he's happy with it. And what's the issue with the clutch replacement? Should that be done when the transmission is fixed?

Hey CA STOOK-

I'd like to see someone replace a synchro that's inside the transmission without taking it off... I would say that technician is blowing smoke up you ***.

The Honda techs that I've talked to have alerted me to the fact that the redesigned clutches do not cure the mid-speed mid-rpm vibration problem, nor does it cure the weak clutch engagement problem either. Suffice to say that I installed an aftermarket pressure plate rather than go through this whole spiel again. The car is currently at Schaumburg Honda (HORRIBLE sales, GREAT service) getting worked on by a friend of mine.

I don't think that helped you... oh well!
