I've gone ~15 miles with no bars left. Scared the crap out of me.

Someone at WTD ran with no bars for while trying to find a gas station. I don't think we went more than twenty miles before finding gas. I start freaking out at two bars.

MY04 went 37 plus change on the Highway and 31 with city driving before dying. I knew I wasn't going to make on the highway so I took advantage of a bad thing by resetting the trip OD just as it went no bars... The city test was after that deal when I did it on purpose in the city with a gas can in the car just to see.. This is pretty important info for me and that's why I did it.

Just one more exit...

I'm good for about 25-30 miles. Dunno, haven't run out yet. I have put 12.7 gallons in so obviously I lack the balls to use that last quart.

interesting idea. I still think it would scare the crap out of me to do it even knowing i have gas with me to put in.

For some reason, I feel much less comfortable with digital fuel guages than analog. I don't know why, I guess it's just what i'm use to.

Any problems getting it to start again after a couple of gallons of gas?

Just filled my 05 with 11 gallons a couple of miles after zero bars. There must be a little over 2 gallons left at zero bars, but I'm not as brave as some others on this board, so I still don't know how much is useable.

Both times I've not tried to get that little extra out of it when it ran out. I merely just pulled over and that was that. Given I didn't try and get anymore of it out once it stalled... It started 1st time after the gas was put it.

As I RE-read my post, you guys must think I'm a goofy bugger for even doing this but, in Washington(atleast where I'm at) you can drive for hours and not run into anything. I'm pretty notorious for not filling up when I have the chance and this is just info I NEED TO HAVE.
