zero gas bars left: how many miles?
No idea how far you can go with no bars, but I will tell you this... I've ran out of gas twice in the last few weeks. Replaced stock fuel pump with walbro and the damn float got stuck so my gauge was off and I ran out of gas. Then we attempted to fix it and, as a test, I intentionally ran it all the way down (270miles on a full tank btw), but now it's stuck at a different level
Anyway, both times, the car started sputtering and I was still able to drive around for like another 20 minutes or so after that. I also noticed that when you are running out, the car won't let you vtec, and you may get a "random multiple cylinder misfire" obdii code Damn float

The gas gauge is highly inaccurate, so when it goes to 0 bars (or the light comes on) you could have anywhere from 2 to 4 gallons left in the tank.
20 to 60 miles, in that area. Generally, it's just a good idea to fill up when you do see the light come on.

...forget rolling around with 1 or 0 bars on the gas gauge... it's much easier to bring the car to the fuel than it is to bring the fuel to the car... on top of the previously mentioned issue of sucking gunk from the bottom of the tank up to the fuel filter...
Very smart thinking. I totally agree, I never run the tank down below 3 bars without filling.
