Default Zip down rear window (Pics)

I went to the trouble to unzip my rear window today. I drove around with it unzipped and it was great!! I hit 90mph and didn't even hear a noise. The air comes in very smoothly and feels great! Here are some quick last minute photo's.

In order to unzip the window, you have to remove this sealant tape from the zipper. This keeps water from penetrating the zipper grid. The only time this would be a factor is if you sprayed water with a hose pipe really hard up into the creases of the rear window. Just be cautious!

Why would you do this?? Why not just put the top down? I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it or anything, I guess I just don't get why you would want to do this.....

Were you able to get it zipped back up OK?

(Why does that sound like a line from a very strange movie?)

It has been said that the window zipper is a one- or two-time use deal.

I used to drive around quite often with the top up and the rear window unzipped in my Miatas. You get great blow-through on those days that are just too blazenly hot to put the top down (which happens much more frequently in North/Central Florida than in the SF Bay).

I just got a used 00. Is the zip out window on my model or just the newer models? Cause I'm not seeing any type of zipper on my window. Am I blind?

It's there, behind a velcro flap. You have to pull the velcro apart and then unzip.
