I was able to drive several Z06s several times before I got my 02 S2000 as I work for a local Chevy dealer. I certainly won't knock the Z06, it's definitely a kick ass car, but the fun factor wasn't there like it is in an S2000. If you are looking for a car that will win most street light to street light races, then the Z06 would be a great choice. Admittedly the Z06 does handle great on less than straight roads, but the feeling it gives you while you are doing it doesn't compare with what our car has to offer. Something else you might want to consider is that in the two years I have worked there I have never walked through our garage and seen less than three to four C5 vettes up on the lifts. My 2 cents.

Personally, I think the steorptype of "bad American quality" is overrated in 50 thousand dollar cars. The Z06 performance is in another class than the S2000. The only thing I don't like about the Z06 is that it shares the same body as a normal C5. To tell the truth, if I had the money I would have had a tough decision to make between the M3 and the Z06. The S2000 would not even have entered my mind.

Also, if u swap out cars every 3 years or so like we do, then long term reliability is not an issue.

the bulid quality is a problem

if you can just keep both, or wait for the C6 and see the improvement
Hmmm.. The S2k doesn't exactly have the best track record you know...

What a question on this board? Buy General Motors and keep American mechanics and parts suppliers employed!

Keep the S2000.

The Z06 is pure speed and performance. It's a monster in that area. But the interior is like every other GM car - ugly!!! And the build quality sucks. Don't do it!
