Have any of you actually went up to your 6th gear? I'm just curious. I haven't tried it yet, but I know I will someday....

My boyfriend went up to the sixth gear of my car, but I never did. A lot of people say it goes way fast and can scare the shit out of you. Got me paranoid

If you're not using 6th, how high are you revving on the highway

It's there for a reason.

Don't ever go into 6th gear except in an emergency. Sixth is just your emergency gear to limp home if your tranny dies. You know. It is like having a fifth wheel as a spare.

Fifth gear is only for difficult situations and you shouldn't really use it unless you've got more than 10,000 miles on the odometer. It takes quite a while to break in the engine to be able to do fifth gear.

I've been to four gear once, but only when I was really feeling adventuresome and also on the track and with no one else on it. It is really cool. All four wheels when round.

Third gear is my favorite so far. I've tried that one at least a dozen times. It is so wonderful but you really can't feel the VTEC transition.

Second gear is pretty good for me. Sometimes on the way to work I shift up to second gear. You can really screech and the VTEC transition is the best.

I do like first gear, but it is hard to start the car on ice so I mostly use first on sunny days.

Reverse has been my fastest gear so far. I sometimes drive to work only using my reverse. I must admit. I've never tried to VTEC in reverse.

Park is my favorite gear. The ride is very smooth. My hair doesn't get mussed and I get incredible gas mileage. I've been there but I've never "went up" to there.

my friend and i went into 6th gear in his s2000, didn't quite peg the digital needle, but got pretty damn close, we were traveling at around 150 mph. Yeah it is scary stuff going that fast, just make sure you got enough braking distance.

i must be confused, i just read all this, and it seems everyone here rode the short bus to school? uhm, if shes in an 04, then yeah 6th is fine on the freeway. car is quite happy there, around 4500 at 80. now if your talkin in VTEC, then yeah it does get scary if your new to that much speed. take 5th to the fuel cut and then shift to 6th and stay in it, 5th tops at 125. from there you have all the way to 167. well, in a stock 04, it takes forever after you clear 135. but if you get an intake, youll see a big diff up top, now my car continues to pull till i let off. ive had it to 161, and then ran out of room. and did it from a roll on in less than a mile. but thats another story. girl use 6th, it wont hurt anything. and get an AEM v2 coldair, so we can see a girl makin some noise. laters dave
