You can easily have the plastic window replaced (by a dealership or yourself). But in order to convert to glass, the frame of the top has to be converted as well, and of course, it'll cost much more. I would say about $1500, but I'm not sure.

to do the glass, a new top is about $800, then there is the labor to install.

the conversion is pretty straightforward; an experienced installer will be able to do it. I hear the going rate for labor is $350.

Yes, you can replace just the plastic section of the top. The plastic is attached to the top using zippers and rivets along the bottom. It takes a few hours to do and the cost of the window is @$250.

If you want to upgrade to the glass window with new top the cost is $800. Order your top from Ganley Honda and send me a PM for the Glass Top Conversion instructions. A new frame is NOT required.

back from the dead!

my window just cracked on me. I really dont mind replacing it with another plastic.

I'm first going to the dealership to see what they can do for me.

but if they can't really help me out; i'm just going to replace the plastic with plastic myself.

are there any write-ups on how to switch out your plastic windows?

thanks.

Just a suggestion to ponder since I don't know how this would look or even the practicality of trying it.
Obtain the exact size piece of plastic then cut the old piece out leaving about 1/4'"-1/2" border. Use windshield installation black silicon to glue the new window to the border of the old.
It seems that it should work and might be worth a try. Good luck

Note- Let the silicone dry a couple of days before operating the top.

I just replace my top about month ago, I was shocked on how easy it was to do. It is a bit time consuming but I think it was worth doing it myself, the cheapest labor quote I got was 900, I got a robins auto top for around 500. The top fitment is perfect and the quality is great as well. I did the glass window conversion, I like it a lot because of how clear the glass window is over the plastic window, however I do miss the size of the plastic window but I have quickly adapted to the change.
As far as just replacing the window it self, I couldent see it taking too log to do and I doubt it would be all that hard to do.
