Default 02 & 03 spring rates...

I heard that pre 02 spring rates are 218F, 291R. Does anyone know what the newer 02+ rates are?

The spring rates did change for '02+, but I don't know what they are. The sway bars changed too.

The 02+ models have stiffer springs and slightly thinner swaybars, but what are the exact rates for the springs?

I found out that they are the same part # but '02 and '03 are made from a different manufacture.

I wonder why the part # is the same then...........

same part with the same specs from a different manufacturer, would likely carry the same part number, mostly because the specs have not changed. Only the supplier.

Well that explains it, this info from a parts department guy can't possibly be right Just kidding (although I had a parts department guy ask my wife if she wanted a oil filter for the 4 or 6 cylinder WRX). There are numerous posts regarding the handling differences between pre and post 02 models. Perhaps Honda just imported the newer springs under the same part number so that any car getting a replacement would just get the "improved" springs?
