Default 03 ECU in an 00 AP1?

I found an 03 ECU which from what I am reading on here had the most aggressive factory tuning for the AP1's - Is it a plug and play to put into my AP1 or will I have issues with the immobilizer?

Thanks!

Yes. A dealer will need to reprogram it for you.

does this count for all '00-'01 ecu swaps from '02-'03? do you HAVE to go to the dealer?

Yes. In fact, if you want to change the ECU for any reason, a dealer will have to reprogram your keys into the ECU. Or it will not start.

ACutally that will not work either. The receiver is part of the system and it needs to go too. So you would need the ECU, Key, Key Cylinder and immobilizer receiver.

You could also bypass the immobilizer, but then you have to deal with a check engine light and the fact that your car could be easily stolen....

you're probably looking at 1.5 hrs of labor from your dealer. and yes sadly only the dealer will be able to do it
