crap... this will suck a** then... i didnt think it would be so much trouble...
There are a couple of 06-07 people that have converted from returnless fuel supply to 00-05 fuel systems in order to run more boost. It has been done before (2QYK4U has done it), but it is not that common.

Hoa

Lets start over. What do you have, and what do you want to end up with?

so we have a solution????

i have a 04 rolling chasis. the previous owner took out the motor and ecu harness. it still have the chasis harness. i have a 07 motor with ecu harness and would like to put it into the 04 chasis but i think it will cause me problems. if i could retain dbw, that would be great. if not, ohh well... even on my 06 right now dosent have traction controll since i ran turbo on it so im used to it.

what kind of solution you have for me? i would be glad to work out a deal with you to solve my problem

Ok, assuming your buddy took the following out of the car.

Full Motor, Motor harness and ECU. and you have the rest.

You bought 07 Motor, harness.

So as it sits today you are missing an ECU even if the parts could work together.

You will need to remove the following..

Intake manifold and everything attached to it.
Motor harness

You will need to install an Intake Manifold from an older car. Complete.
Motor harness from an older car.
ECU from an 04.

This will make the motor a drop in. You will need to get a key or two coded for the ECU.

The only thing I don't have is an ECU for an 04. I do have one from an 02.

I could use the intake manifold for my project car. I don't need the emissions stuff the dropped off the car.

Make sence?

Yes, you are correct and here is why.

1. The harness is missing a number of things that the earlier cars had in the way of emissions.
2. The Intake manifold is also missing a number of things, idle control valve, EGT vac loop. Again, all emissions related
3. The TB is DBW.
4. The fuel rail is returnless
5. The ECU is for a DBW car.

I know more about the car in the prior years then I do about the 06-07. There has got to be a few things that are missing to go forward with the car. I know that the ABS pump was changed and with that I assume the ECU is now tied into the system for VSS. So the simplest install will be to make the car the same model years that it shipped from the factory as.

Make sence?

But, You also need a pre-06 cylinder head as the the Air injection ports are not machined on the 06 and later heads.
