Your problem is not VTEC crossover, as VTEC is MAP dependent and in a cruise situation the VTEC crossover is not being used.

Find someone that knows how to run live data on the APP sensor (accelerator pedal position) as well as the MAP sensor.

It wont be hard to find the variant that is causing the problem.
