Default 06 Engine Hesitation

I've been trying to get Pasadena Honda to fix a problem with the engine in my 06 missing and jerking for quite some time. Friday a technician had it all day long, including driving it. He reported:

"Customer reports a misfire or car seems to be cutting out while driving. Test drove vehicle as driven by client, maintaining 5,000-6,000 RPM in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. Contacted Tech line and condition described may be VTEC crossover. Low RPM hesitation is charactertistic for 2006 models per the knock sensor is sensitive and cause more timing retard than other years."

Basically, he's saying the problem can't be fixed. I have 113,000 miles on it. This is getting really frustrating. Can anyone help me with this?

I can't believe that no one has a high mileage 06 with this problem.

Have you tried any other shops besides Honda? Try taking it to Ballade or Evasive. You can also try Tony Fuchs at Mid Valley Auto. Good Luck.

I was happy with the clutch job Evasive did. I'll call them. Thanks.

Billman250 is an s2000 specialist/guru that resides on the forum. I'm sure with a bit of searching you'll be able to find him. Just send a PM his way and he'll should be able to walk you through some helpful tips to finding what's wrong with your car.
