We have 109 fuel at a local gas station in my city. THink its like $8 or osmething a gallon, used to use it in my mr2 turbo so i could crank the boost up a lil more. Definately makes a difference.

I am just curious which 76 you saw this at??? Can you give me an intersection?

Thanks,

Joe
I was heading on the 10 E and got off on Centinela, went about a mile north. There's only one pump that has it, look for the checkered flag that painted on the ground next to it.

I burned my CAT. up with Klotz 113 race fuel. Now I Don't have a CAT. and run race fuel all the time. It makes a big diff. with FI.

Leaded fuels will destroy catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. Unleaded race gas will not damage either of these components.

Exactly right. Most high octane race fuel uses lead to boost the octane and clings to o2 sensors. I builds up quickly. The smell everybody fondly remembers is the lead content, and well, I let you guess if its good for you. A couple tanks won't kill you but it could cause you to fail inspection for a failed converter in places like Cali and I thought stock cats went for several hundred bucks.

I ran a tank on a turbo car once and it ran wonderfully, but toluene will do the same and not harm your converter.

Toluene and Xylene are highly corrosive to polymers... I used to run it in my turbo MR2 but felt that I didn't want to risk damage to fuel tank linings, rubber o-rings, and fuel lines.

Tol and Xylene also have a chemical reaction with platinum... and you know where platinum is found on our cars.

76's 100 octane is unleaded. It was available when I lived in Daytona Beach, FL. I filled my Miata up with it a few times after I supercharged it. I'm not sure if it helped at all, but it ran well on it. It has a distinct smell when it burns. It doesn't smell like regular gas when it burns. At the time it was about $4.00 a gallon. I can just imagine what it costs now.

I tried $20 worth yesterday and I don't know if it's placebo (probably is) but I imagined my car feeling more responsive!?!?

Your ECU is tuned for 91 octane and that is the setting it will run on. Putting 100 octane should not have any effect on performance.
