10w-30 vs 5w-40
which one would be better for spirited driving and a little track use right now I have castrol edge 5-40 in my ap1 and I am wondering is that what I should be running
I live in Los Angeles and I drive at high rpm a lot of the time

You have to do it like in F1 cars. Use a straight 30w, pre-heat it to 174 degrees farenheit, and then inject it in the engine.
Seriously, the manual says you can use either, so it's up to you. I doubt you'll see, feel, or notice a difference according to your stated driving habits. I use 10w-40, I've used 0w-40 5w-40 10w-30 5w-30 0w-30, take it from someone that's been there. Whatever oil the car has used for most of it's life, use that, and keep using that, and make sure you change your oil when it's due. You'll never have a problem as long as you do that, other than burn oil, which AP1's do.
