1st gear and Reverse
Hey All,
this problem just arose recently where 1st gear is very difficult to get in gear and reverse is almost impossible. I am the 2nd owner of my s2000 and have been checking my fluids but I have a feeling that, I need to change the tranny oil fluid. I have no clutch problems (slipping, grinding etc). Matter of fact once I start rolling 2-6 are fine to shift into. Its just 1st and reverse because Im stopped and not moving. I am hoping it just needs tranny oil opposed to people saying I need to change the clutch/tranny when I know both of those are fine.
Thanks

Alright sorry for the late write up.
It was the tranny fluid, it was pretty old now i can slide into the gears with 2 fingers pushing the shifter. As for the Clutch peddle, my dummy self didnt check it and it got low so air got into the system. Me and a buddy bled it and now my clutch peddle is uber stiff which is great. Now the car shifts as smooth as a automatic.
Thanks for the info fellas!

I'm glad you were able to sort this issue out.
I think I've heard of a similar issue in a recent thread that was a result of "burrs" forming on the syncros in the transmission as aresult of skip shifting. The issue was also resolved from yet another one of Billman250's awesome, simple fixes by shifting hard in a very specific sequence to remove the hard "burr" edges on the syncros.
Just thought I would share
