2003 S2K Clutch Slipping
Ok, So I just bought an 03 S2K it was owned by an old man, never abused, The car has 39,500 on it which is really low for the year model. So I finally got on it today and as soon as I shifted to 2nd the clutch slipped for a second or so, them I shifed to third and it slipped againg. During normal driving it does not slip at all. I am just confused seeing how the car is virtualy brand new still, why a low milage bone stock S2K would have clutch problems??
Try changing the clutch fluid. I just had that problem. I had my clutch services 2-3 weeks ago and the clutch started slipping 3 days ago. The fluid had gotten NASTY for some reason and when they drained and filled it back up with fresh fluid, the slipping went away. To change the fluid the easy way you will need a turkey baster, a towel, an empty bottle, and a bottle of brake fluid. Wrap the towel around the clutch resevoir, take off the cap, use the baster to suck all the fluid out and put it in the empty bottle, do it a few times until all the fluid is out (or as much as you can get), use the towel to wipe the inside of the resevoir, fill it back up and make sure the fluid is clean, and then put the cap back on. Be sure not to get brake fluid on your car as it can damage your paint. Wipe it away quickly if it does get on it.
Yeah, so I changed the Clutch fluid out. it didnt do it. shes still sliping. So I am just going to do a flywheel/clutch combo. 8lbs flywheel w/ 6 puck disc and pressure plate. Maybe alittle over kill but I plan to make some serious HP very very soon
You will seriously hate that 6-puck disc until you start making that serious hp. It takes a lot of slipping to engage without stalling. And a 6-puck won't last too long either on an NA car. I've driven a buddy's car with a 6puck and it was awful...stalled the car 4 times just trying to get out of a parking lot...and it lasted 8 months.
Also, if you are going to start making serious hp soon, you probably shouldn't get an 8lb aluminum flywheel...if you go turbo, you'll want the extra flywheel weight to keep rpms from falling and allowing to boost to drop; plus, a teeny-tiny 8lb aluminum flywheel may decide to explode with all that extra hp. But if you are dead set on it, then make sure you install a scatter shield to protect your legs and your passenger's legs from shrapnel.

Well I fixed my clutch problem, I ajusted the stop nut under the dash, and brought the clutch pedel up 1/8" and now shes grabbing like a champ. And forget the flywheel I just got threw reading a horror story. So till I start slipping with the SC setup I will leave it alone. One more question, the LSD in the car shouldn't it light up both tires on a hard take off?? cause the LSD I used in my civic would lock both of them up on a take off. of coures it was aftermarket

Not trying to thread jack but I have the same problem as you, mine is also a MY03 and has about 40k miles. I will have to look into moving the pedal up a little higher like you did.
As long as the clutch fluid looks to be pretty clean I should be in good shape with that correct?

Yeah, I brought it up an 1/8 of an inch, is has abit more slack before engaugement but it has not slipped since. the only thing that is taking getting used to is lifting all the way out of the pedal during shifting, but i am happy.
