Default 2004 oil usage during breakin?

Just wondering is any of the 04 owners out there have noticed any oil usage during break-in?

I have about 850 miles on mine right now and the car doesn't appear to have used any oil.

I just hit 1150 miles yesterday and it hasn't consumed anything yet.

Be carefull. Most '00 - '03s dont burn oil right away, they usually start around 2000 to 3000 miles and can easily burn a quart or more during a tank. Then after about 7K to 10K miles the oil burning drops to near zero. I dont suspect the '04s should be any different.

My '03 didn't burn a measurable amount of oil until I got past 1,000 miles and then it burned a quart from then until I just changed it at 3,750. Do not assume that you are ever out of the woods. At a minimum, check the oil each time you get gas.

Without going into detail, a A/H Rep informed me that it is standard and acceptable for your car to burn a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. Set a routine to check it and document when you do check it, that way if you ever end up with a problem you have plenty of information to support your side. Honda seems to use low oil as an excuse not to cover problems under the warranty!!!!
