Is it normal to have a bit of a crunch while going to 2nd?or am I pulling the shifter back at an odd angle?

 

It shouldn't be.
There is no adjustment that I can see in the shifter except a worn
plastic seat at the bottom of the shifter.

Before everyone will say it's your synchro.....
Do this:
Bleed the clutch or replace the fluid. Go from there...cheapest route.

 

does this happen in the morning when the car isnt warmed up???
-car + fluids need to get warm so it can get better


are you shifting very fast and the crunch follows?
-when im at the dragstrip i rarely crunch my 2nd gear but its becuase im shifting to fast and CDV might be the problem...
