Default 2nd o2 sensor broke in cat?

(sorry second post, put in wrong area)Hey guys could someone give me some good advice; I had to change my secondary o2 sensor and when i pulled it the tip was broken off b/c of the internals shifting in the cat. My question or advice id like is should i push the internals back and put a new o2 in and if i do that will it just get loose and brake my new one. Or should i just buy a new cat and put my new o2 in that and call it a day. I just dont want to put the new one in and it happens all over again and brakes off the new one.

Please help me with this situation if anyone has had any experience or know how on this.
Thanks

Same thing had happened to me. If you try to push the internals back they will just break loose again. You should replace the cat. Buying a new OEM cat is incredibly expensive so my suggestion would be to go with a used cat.

One spark plug spacer on the o2 sensor will protect it from future cat damage.

wont the spacer make for an incorrect reading and cause an engine light. If this works, is it just an ordinary spacer like the one for the oil drain plug?

No, its a spark plug spacer, needs to be drilled slightly to fit.

It will not cause a CEL, it will actually do the opposite. Should your cat become inefficient, the spacer will prevent a P0420.
