It is important to put a small amount of lube on the splines to prevent sticking.

If you can duplicate the condition, you know exactly what it is. If it bleeds to function, then gets worse, it is a bleeding issue. Either the technique is wrong, of there is a seal/line failure, or both. Several people have complained about the bleeding, and the fact that you didn't follow the lube recommendation probably doesn't help.

Don't get upset with him, it's not his fault this happened, nor did you ever mention whether you did it yourself or had someone do it for you. In fact, by saying "All of the clutches I have done in the past, I never lubed it." does somewhat imply you did this one too.

Regardless, his advice was still correct.
