7lbs pulley for Comptech
I have the 7 psi pulley on without any other engine managment. I had it about a month now and it runs fine. Pulls alot harder from midrange all the way up. I think from what everyone says the stock settings from Comptech is usually a little rich.
I think that you have to increase the fuel pressure with the Fuel Pressure Regulator abit to richen things up. The best would be to hook up a Wide-Band O2 and do some fine tuning. Anyone Blow up anything with the upgraded boost pulley?

Also, I need to get with SanMarinoCpe, but Hardtopguy said they had to fiddle with the pulley to get it to fit.
I'll find out details and post accordingly. Adding dyno sheet to first post in a second.Skip
I have just come back from the Comptech factory with another owner's car. (I'll let him identify himself if he so wishes.) He had the Comtpech intercooled kit on his car. The original pulley indicated 6.1 psi boost max on a Dynomax. With the original pulley, he got 271 WHP. (Don't let the numbers fool you. It all depends on the operator, the type of dyno and the numbers they plug into it when the pull is done. What's interesting is the comparison. This car, my car with the Vortech and another Comptech "tuned" car I've driven all "feel" quite comparable to each other.)
Yesterday, we were at Comptech and they installed the higher boost pulley, turned the fuel pressure reg two full turns and it dynoed 291 at an indicated boost of 6.9 psi.
With the first pulley the A/F was mostly on the safe rich side with a very small blip going up to about 13.2 in the mid-rpm range. With the higher boost pulley, it now is still very safe with a blip of about 12.8 A/F in the same point. Comptech is very happy and comfortable that this engine will run safely and reliably. I tend to agree.
ps. For anyone interested, I took many pictures. Shad gave me a very extensive guided tour of their facility north of Sacramento. I'll post up a new thread in UTH when I get my pics sorted out.

xviper- That would be consistent with the gains they saw on my car.
I am glad to hear that the A/F stayed safe. I just finished my second full tank of gas and recorded 20 mpg with some freeway and some spirited acceleration- I had to make sure the new stuff was securely fastened to the vehicle.
The car that xviper was talking about is mine. Comptech used their 04 pulley wich is a bit larger than the 7" pulley that you use. I think that your set up is more aggressive. I gained 21 HP and I am happy. Good luck and enjoy.
How much did it cost to change the pulley to 7"? I also want to know how come the 7" pulley is not on their site as an upgrade and the Comtpech intercooled kit that xviper mention? Did you guys go there ask them to change the pulley or something?
Sorry about all these noob question. I am new to this forums and I have much knowledge about car engine parts
