Default abs sensor damaged help

I damaged my front right abs sensor and now my and light is on in the cluster. What exactly does it do? Will I need to replace it immediately? It snapped in half showing the pink and white wire I believe. Can I strip the wire.and just connect it? Opinions please thanks a bunch

Pick up a new (or used) sensor and swap out the bad one. Your ABS system will not work until the sensor is replaced.
