Default AC Problems

My AC in my car is not functioning at all. I bought a can of freon with a pressure check and noticed who ever charged the car last overfilled so was in the red zone. I took it over and had the freon removed and added new freon still blowing hot air. I can hear the condenser kick on when I engage the AC and checked the condenser fan fuse and other fuses and all check out. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?

When you took the car for an ac service they should of fix ur ac problem. Makeup they overfill it too. Did you use ur gauge to check if the pressure is in the right mark?

You mean you can hear the COMPRESSOR kick on, not the condensor. You could have a blockage somewhere on the high side which wouldnt show up on your gauge on the low side..

Get a full pressure gauge and compare the high side pressure with the low side.

If that was the case, then whoever the op took it to didn't do it right. He got ripe off.

Possibly. Some shops do the exact same thing DIYers will do. Purge the system (Legally or illegally) and stick the ol cheapy R134 kit on it and refilled it.

Just depends who he had do the work.

You know if u see someone purge the ac illegally n u got a pic of it. U can report them to the BAR n get some big money for it.

I used the regular r134 from walmart n it works great.
