Back on topic! I did a search on 2006 S2000 so If it's older let me know. 06 is the first for DBW.

The testing for this problem requires a Honda scan tool.

2138 is the APP Sensor A/B (TP Sensor D/E) Incorrect Voltage Correlation .

P2122: APP Sensor A (TP Sensor D) Circuit Low Voltage

The part should ball park around 150 bucks if it needs to be replaced. minus labor.
37971PZX003

Testing requires jumping pins and measuring data for % and voltage on a Honda specific scan tool. I imagine if you have a $5000+ dollar tool like the new Snap on scanner or a gynesis you could pull these numbers required. Starting point for diag is trying to find a short in the wires, not replacing the APP.

I never really understood the need for DBW. Why was this change a necessity for honda?
Computer control of throttle to allow for traction control.

What year is your car? 2006 + cars are drive by wire. That mean that the TB and pedal are not physically connected. There is a Sensor in the pedal and a motor/sensor in the TB. So your code is telling me (Throttle/Pedal position sensor) that your pedal sensor is suspect.
Sorry to mention that i am from Singapore, and my car is an 07 RHD, JDM s2000. i have swapped the sensor with another car, and will that sensor fit my car? because i am not sure of the US market and parts and will they even work on a JDM model? or is it universal?

thank you all for the inputs!

The big reason was emissions. I recall reading that mfr's couldn't get cars to pass the more strict emissions laws without DBW. DBW can add some important/useful features though.. Integrate cruise control into the ecu, as well as mandatory traction control (another law) in the upcoming years is easier to implement via DBW.

Sorry for going OT w/ the response, back on topic.

I know the last post is over 6 years old. Thanks for the post people sure made my day. I replaced my TPS on my 2006 DBW S2000 and its fixed. But not before I replaced the primary and secondary O2 sensors, fuel pump, plugs and coil packs. Just replace the TPS first before you do all the other items. Replacing the TPS is straight forward and takes 30 minutes tops.

Yep, just throwing parts at the car doesn't always work. But you can consider the effort as preventive maintenance which is always good.

Throttle Position Sensor
Accelerator Position Sensor

Which one did you replace? You say you replaced the TPS but that is integrated into the Throttle Body and cannot be replaced on its own.

The throttle position sensor on the drivers side just behind the shock tower. Not the throttle body sensor. The throttle cable from the petal goes into the throttle position sensor. Hope this helps you man.
