Default Accidentally Downshift

Hi guys, stupid me I was doing a pull on the highway & I accidentally downshift into 2nd when I was full throttle in 3rd going about 70-75 MPH, the engine over revved really bad. I push the clutch in & shifted to nuetral right away. I saw smoke (I think it was a white smoke) coming out of the rear so I pull over to the side of the road and it stalled out on it's own. Now the car won't start at all. I have talked to a few people and some say snap the retainer rods, blew the pistons, my tranny blew up, & need a new headgasket. From the outside view, near the VTEC solenoid it has an oil leak (pic attached below). Please help! Thanks

That small leak there isnt you problem. Need more info. Whats the oil level and condition? Any metal shavings? Hows the engine sound when you turn it over? Does it sound different than before? If so, it likely is down on compression in one or more cylinders. Compression/leakdown test is where you need to start. If its an ap1, valve spring retainer may have cracked

I would start at your valve train and replace to ap2 retainers and keepers if you haven't. Check the oil/diff/tranny for metal shavings. Diff usually has little shavings if its ap1, but a lot could be dangerous. If there's metals shavings in your oil, could mean a blown head gasket. There's a lot a play here tbh. What's the milage?

The Diff and Transmission should be completely unaffected, not sure why he would be looking there.

Bottom line is, you mechanically over-revved the engine. This can cause a lot of issues internally due to valve float and/or piston to valve contact. The fact that the engine will not start tells me you did some damage. It may be possible to repair what was done but you may be better off simply finding a good condition used engine and swapping it out.
