Well I fixed it. It wasn't the clutch, or the battery. I It was a bad starter solenoid. I thought it was weird that I was hearing a click inside the motor. I put my ear a little close to the starter and it was clearly what was making the noise. Sure glad it was the starter because replacing it was a pain in the ass. After I got it out I jumped it and it turned but didn't engage. With the help of a girl at my work with tiny hands we managed to get it back in with a lot less problems. If anyone needs advice on getting one of these things out I can help. I tried a lot of non conventional ways of doing it, but it comes down to having a really long socket extension, moving your alternator, lifting your radiator hose and taking out almost two impossible bolts to reach or see. It helped to have someone with smaller paws and a lift because I had someone guide the socket from the bottom of the car. You also have to be really careful of a knock sensor, it's hard not to violently rip out the starter when you have it unattached. It was a 4 to 6 hour job with 2 people and a lift. There aren't very many helpful videos on the youtube so I might make one to spare anyone the tears of trying to do it any other way. Anyway thanks for the help, and if anyone's interested in replacing their starter I'm happy to help because surprisingly there isn't a lot of info on the net. The starter cost me under $100 at autozone with a core. Probably a $350 to $400 job for someone else to do it assuming they will rip you off on getting a starter of their own.
