ACT pulling a fast one?!
You guys need to do some searching... check out honda-acura.net or preludeonline.com. I've heard many bad things about these clutches (friction material coming loose). I know there are many alternatives out there for other cars (genuine, new units) though I guess we'll have to wait for ours.
ACT modifies the pressure plate by changing the fulcrum point. The requires disassembling the pp, then machining part of it, then reassembling. They sell their disc as a stock replacement disc, not an upgrade, because the quality of the stock disc is very good.
Ok, I got the first one of these and I spoke in depth with Derk about it before he put it out. The fulcrum point on this clutch is NOT CHANGED! Centerforce does that a lot and it causes problems. I think ACT does it too, but not on this clutch (at least not as of last time I spoke with Derk). I believe the part that is actually changed is the little tiny leaf springs between the housing and the pressure plate itself. I could be wrong, but I think that's the part they replace with a stiffer spring. The fingers in the middle are the same and the housing is the same, just painted yellow.
You should notice an immediate difference in pedal feel and clutch grabbing power with this PP unless there is somethign wrong with yours. When I installed mine, the pedal was obviously firmer and the clutch has since had much better bite from the increased clamping force. If yours feels the same, there might be something wrong with it.
HTH.

Ok, I may be mistaken on that. It was several months ago that I asked and apparently the old memory isn't what it used to be.
The fulcrum is the point around which the spring pivots when you depress the clutch pedal. basically, it's a lever pivot point. It's inside the pressure plate where you cannot see it.
