Josh, you don't cut the wheel well. You do need to cut a hole in the splash shield in front of the wheel well and also in the splash shield that runs between the radiator and the engine. I just made a slit in the shield in front of the wheel well and it works just fine.

If you don't want to cut the other removable shield, then you could choose not to reinstall it. I thought about that for a little while, but didn't want the engine compartment getting filthy.

I'm updating my webpage with some basic install instructions. It's taking me a lot longer than anticipated, and I'm heading to bed. I'll attempt to finish it up tomorrow morning/afternoon.

Right now the CAI is all laid out in my living room. I think I got it figured out and if I get home from work early enough tonight I will install it.

I had it installed Saturday as well but I had a mechanic do it at a tuning shop. They just had to cut part of the plastic splash panel.

The butt-dyno saids the car is pulling a bit harder at mid-RPMs, the sound at WOT is definitely addictive.

MacGyver the directions and pictures on your website rock. HOWEVER, the damn clips that you have to remove under the car certainly don't rock. I took the airbox out, disconnected all the hoses, and removed six of the seven clips - but the last clip wouldn't come out.

Since this is my only car and I have to make it to work at 6 am tomorrow, I was forced to put everything back together. I was so close but that last clip just screwed me.

Anyone offer suggestions to how to remove that last clip - the one on the drivers sider 'tower'?

You could go ahead and break it, it won't make much difference. Just replace it with one of the clips from the front of the splash guard since it is held up by the other plastic pieces. You can pick up a bag of these clips for a few bucks at your local Auto Zone or Pep Boys. Oh, not to mention when you're finished you have to remove one of the towers (and its associated clip) from the splash guard, so you are left with 6 good clips and 6 holes to plug.

Yeah I thought about that. In fact, I already broke half the clips. I guess I just don't take them out the right way? But this last clip, no matter what, just doesn't want to come out.

OK, I've updated the webpage again with a few more pics, an updated resume, and a few other small items. Now that I have the bug, I may just run through the entire site and update the pages as I go. Don't forget to hit 'refresh' if you've been to my site before and it's still in the cache. I especially noticed the need to hit 'refresh' on the performance page to keep the pics from cramming together with the prose.

As I mention on the page, AEM instructions specify complete removal of the splash guard, but I consider this a bad idea. That guard prevents a lot of crap splashing into the radiator fans and motors, and you can leave it on by removing one of the 'towers' on the guard, with 6 out of the 7 (or is it 5 out of 6) clips still holding it up.
