No cold idle. Don't expect to go anywhere for at least 30 seconds to a minute (this is in 60F weather!)

Not having the factory temp gauge sucks. The EMS programs the check engine light to turn on instead. Modifry has a fix, and you can always get a gauge, I just never got around to it.

Part throttle driveability is touch and go with me... but I think my cheapness on that portion of the tune was to blame.

If safety is a concern, you lose immobilizer with EMS. Easier to steal the car.

Mine starts and idles almost like stock. The major difference is that it takes a few cranks before it starts. Part throttle, even when cold is great (The V1.19 of the software/firmware has a warm up acceleration enrichment that helps here). It's MUCH better than a carb and only slightly worse that stock. I HIGHLY recommend the AEM even for daily driving. I do have to say that I spent at least 10-15 days of cold starts to get that part of the map right. It took a LOT more fuel than the AEM base map called for. Modifry's fix is an absolute must for a daily driver. Do not even consider the EMS without it.

Mr.Green, something is very wrong with your EMS tune if you can't start it and drive it while cold. My cold start enrichment table was set to near perfection within minutes. If I left it alone for 3 seconds to let the AEM boot up and sync and then turn the starter it would start in just a bit under 2 cranks for me.

The AEM 19-in-1 gives you a water temp and boost off the AEM and whatever else the AEM has or you can get the modifry fix for just the water temp.

It was Asura's map. He can drive it when it's cold outside. It is just the first 30-60 seconds you could not rev the throttle or else his car would stall.

Since the OP has the forced induction banner, I figured this might be a characteristic of forced induction. I didn't have a problem on mine.

Mr. Green... I love it!

Something is just wrong with asura's car. I tried to get it to say Tom Green above the stars but they wouldn't do it :'(

One of my customers bought the AEM EMS through me and picked up 22whp N/A! Cost of tune is about $400.

That TOTALLY depends on who you go to...

Most places it is 3 hours... $150 per (I actually thought it would be cheaper than boosted tuning, but apparently not). Some places can do it in 2 hours. That is what I did the first time, and it sucked.

If it dies when he revs it when cold, he probably needs to add more fuel to the related tables. The warm up enrichment and air temp enrichment are the first places I would check. IIRC, there are four or five tables related to additional fueling on cold starts. If it's still based on the AEM base map, it won't start or run well below about 50 degrees. The AEM base map needs a LOT more cold start fuel based on my experience. That should solve your problem.

are there any other methods besides AEM EMS. I am doing an extensive N/A build (inc cams) on my s2k and its still a daily driver. You guys are all having me think twice about the aem ems. What is Modifry's fix ?
