Code is "O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction, bank 1 sensor 2. I had a check engine light before (because of my jdm ecu) but I switched back to stock and I have this code now. What gives and how do I fix the problem??

 

you got 2 O2 sensors 1 is upstream and 2 is downstream. Correct me if im wrong. but #2 or downstream is on the far end of the cat or TP which is the one that throws the light if you dont have the CEL fix in the TP

 

So is my o2 bad then since I have the o2 fix?

 

There's one before the cat and one in the cat. Generally the one before the cat is referred to as sensor 1. If in fact it is bad it will enter your ecu into limp mode, which you should notice.
Sensor 2 can throw a cel but should not affect performance as it serves more as a control if the cat is working.

Before in the cat (or test pipe in my case), I didnt see anything. Is it way up near the header??

 

its up towards the header yes. but you shoudl be able to see it from under the car.

 

Berk testpipe has a o2 fix. Make sure you install o2 senser corectlly. All so make sure senser doesnt sit to low other way it will throw a cell. Good luck man. Im waiting on my testpipe

Bank 1 sensor 2 is the rear sensor, the one in the test pipe.

The Heater failure is not the same DTC that would occur from the test pipe being installed. You'd have a P0420 for cataylist below efficiency.

You need a new rear 02 sensor to fix the heater code. If the test pipe mounts the sensor with the tip of the sensor going uphill, moisture in the exhaust system is collecting inside the anti-fouler and killing the 02 heater.

If you don't change the way the sensor is mounted you'll eventually do the same thing to the replacement sensor.

Im gonna take it out and inspect it and plug it back in. If the lights still there ill order a new one. Do you know of a place that sells them cheap? Also can this be hurting performance in any way?
