Default After I installed catch can..

After I installed a catch can, dipstick keeps popping out after a short period of drive. So I changed it to a new one that hold more pressure. but again a week later, I've encountered this problem again. Do you guys know what's going on?? I don't exactly know if it's because of the catch can and I really don't want to purchase dipsticks everytime this happens. thanks.

This is a good one...the dip stick problem popping is usually caused by to much crank case pressure / a PVC thing. You may want to look there first.
Good luck with this

I've heard that wiping the seal on the dip stick could also cause it to pop, leave some oil on the seal.

hmm.. I don't know if thats going to work. But leaving some oil on the seal would let it pop out easier, no??

Do you burn a lot of oil between oil changes?

like the above post implies somthing funny is going on in your hoses. The only reason that there would be more pressure now is because the pcv system is not venting as much as it used to. So what i would recomend that you check is your pcv valve (i hope you reused it, you cant just remove it) if it rattles when you shake it then its ok. It thats ok then check the connections to the catchcan, blow through the tubes; there should be very little resistance.

Also check to see if you catch can is actually catching anything , this would be a direct indicator of if it is working. Also keep in mind that catch cans have to be emptied often. If its full then it will not allow the crankcase to vent.

Thats great, but until you post a pic or describe how you hooked up this catch can your problem probably won't be solved.....
