Default Aftermarket Clutch

I have a MY04 (50k miles) and it has an aftermarket clutch. I don't know the specs or when the clutch was put in, as i bought the car with it. The clutch pedal travel seems shorter than OEM, and it takes twice if not three times or more pressure to push down then an OEM one. The pressure is fine with me, even in traffic. With normal acceleration (not laying the hammer down) from first gear it feels like the clutch is skipping off the flywheel. Like the car stammers a bit until the clutch catches at about 2-3k rpm. If i take off fairly hard it doesnt stammer and catches fine, but 2-3k comes really quickly then Just wondering if this is normal with an aftermarket clutch. Thanks.

retty much, I had a GT4 with a stage 3 puck clutch inside it and it was exactly as you described.

Moved to a stage3 spring loaded clutch and the pedal felt like OEM with benifits.

Like Dan said, It's probably a pucked clutch disc you've got. I had a 9 puck in my old SHO and combined with near solid motor mounts, it chattered pretty bad.

Even threw a drink out of my cupholder once!
