Don't use the cheap no name coils from ebay they have bad reviews and high failure rates. But you don't have to buy your coils from Honda as authentic Denso coils can be found on Amazon at a decent price, made in Japan coil Densos. They are the same as Honda OEM at much less cost, and I've used them without issue. The 04-05 ap2 Denso coils work great for early ap1's and ap2s, I have not used any coils for the 06+ models but I assume that they should be available too.

Thanks. I'll pick up some Denso. I have about 120k already so it probably a good time to swap them out.

I just wait till one throws a code- just keep one or two on hand until that time. There really isn't a maintenance schedule for coil packs IIRC.

^ I took a spare set on the one Dragon run trip I attended, and I ended up giving them to a fellow S2ki member who found herself with a bad set of coils during her trip. It fixed her issues immediately and allowed her to enjoy the event. Good thing I didn't need any during the event. She did pay me for them but I had no intentions of selling them when I took them on the trip but I wanted to help her out as there aren't many choices for parts like that when you are down at the Dragon.

I had a set of Okadas for a few years, never had any issues with them, I would like to think they are better than stock but I can't say 100%. They did seem to run a bit smoother but maybe because I wanted them to given how expensive they can be lol. They do look really nice.

Yeah haven't really noticed any difference either except esthetically
With some boost added it might be different.

No issues with Okada on NA or low boost. I have 3 lightly used AP1 coil packs for sale too.
