empty your piggy bank and find all the loose change under the couch cause your going to need $10,000 to replace your engine, sorry bud. good luck with everything

If your engine simply stalled due to water blocking the intake track with minimal water entering the combustion chamber, you may be able to fix it without resorting to engine replacement. This requires thoroughly drying it all out. You need to dry it out fast, so that the water doesn't cause corrosion. Some people have used a hair dryer with success in the intake track, but drying the combustion chamber is more difficult without compressed air.

If you sucked in a lot of water, there could be damage to the head (valves), rods, pistons or even crankshaft. That's when it gets very expensive!

The main problem you're facing is diagnosing the damage so that you can minimize costs. That requires a trained mechanic, so I suggest taking your car to one.

You can pull the plugs and crank the engine over to blow the water out. I have done this many times on Jeeps and my Toyota when hydroed. Change the oil too.

well i was on my way home from work and it was pouring like hell.. i couldn't even see 15 ft in front of me.. since it started to rain quickly.. the roads started to flood.. so reading about previous forum posts about CAI.. i drove my car in low RPM.. so i wouldnt suck up any water.. the roads had about 2-3 inches of water.. well i came up to my neighborhood and there is a dip where a lot of water was flowing.. drove straight across it realy slowly.. and it the engine just died..so i try to start my car again.. and it goes for a little bit then it dies again for good.. i got out of my car and the water was up to my mid calves.. .. about a foot or so... so i had to get the tow hook and drag my car all the way to my house.. and that night i took the spark plugs out and set it to dry.. its been 11+ hours and it wont start.. just clicks .. im going to call my dealer and have them check it out..

If it just clicks and won't turn over, your problem is probably in the electrics going to the starter motor somewhere. If you submerged or soaked your starter motor, the solenoid may be fried. Take it to a mechanic who understands ignition systems and see what he thinks. Best luck!
